Metabolic and Behavioral Effects of Breakfast Frequency and Quality in a Bi-Ethnic Sample of Children: A Transdisciplinary Cross-Site Developmental Project
The overall purpose of this study is to conduct a 2-center randomized cross-over trial of a breakfast intervention in Hispanic overweight boys in order to test hypotheses concerning effects of breakfast frequency and quality on metabolic, behavioral, and psychological outcomes.

Comprehensive NCMHD Research Center of Excellence focused on obesity in Minority Youth through research, translation, and training to improve minority health in Hispanic and African American youth, with a major focus on exploring innovative ways to identify, prevent and reduce minority health disparities related to obesity, especially type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
